Lena Eriksson (b. 1971 in Visp) resides in Basel. She studied at the Ecole Cantole d'art du Valais. From the outset of her artistic journey, she has shown a keen interest in interdisciplinary collaborations, working alongside other artists, curators, scientists, chefs, and authors. Following her art studies, she embarked on international tours with the project Artist on the Road and the performance group GABI.
Within the exhibition space of Kaskadenkondensator Basel, she orchestrates performative projects that bridge the gap between art and the audience. These projects, such as Galeriespiel, Galerie Helga Broll, Zu Hause zu Gast, Ferien, and Weder Verwandt noch Verschwägert, focus on artistic practices and artists' images, and she conducts research in the art space. Alongside Andrea Seamann and Chris Regn, she managed the independent art space Lodypop in Basel from 2004 to 2009, reflecting their motto "Performance without Pressure" and "Projects without Panic."
Since 2015, she has been a lecturer in the master's program in art at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Leveraging her own practice, she has developed mediation projects with La Kunsthalle in collaboration with students. Eriksson is a prolific publisher, known for works like the fanzine KAP, the Neuland magazine, and Monday 2 Monday, a communication project with Varsha Nair that she has consistently pursued since 2011. In the summer of 2022, she curated the exhibition Bang Bang - Translocal Performance Stories with Muda Mathis, Chris Regn, and Andrea Saemann at the Museum Tinguely, Basel.
