I got to know Womanifesto during the time I was studying art in an art institute that focused on creating modern art with beautiful aesthetics according to Thai culture. My artwork instead focuses on questioning the condition of women who are oppressed under the patriarchal culture in Thai society. Therefore, my creations are often viewed as being alien to traditional art, making me feel like an outsider to the art establishment. However, meeting the female artist group Womanifesto made a change in my life. Opening new horizons in the creation of contemporary art in a variety of formats, as well as the bravery of female artists in presenting challenging issues to the art world.

I have participated in three artistic activities which have impressed me every time, especially in 2008, a midlife crisis in my life. But good news came when I was given the opportunity to participate in the Artist in Residence program at Rai Boonbandan, Sisaket Province. Living with Thai and foreign female artists for a month, I created mixed media art pieces to reflect our friendship.

I took photos of artist friends on vinyl and wove them into small mats for everyone to take home with them. One of the artists is Auntie. Over 70 years of expertise in weaving traditional Isaan reed mats. She therefore serves as a mentor for active aging, working with local female artists and exchanging views on art making with friends every day. Has successfully created learning in combining folk art with contemporary art. Therefore, participating in this activity was an artistic experience that I am proud of and will always remember as a valuable event.
